Thank you for participating in the online survey. To better understand how the antler restriction pilot has affected the Missouri white-tailed deer herd I would like you as a volunteer to submit data from your trail camera photos. I will not be asking specific locations of your trail cameras. I will only ask the county in which you placed them. I will not ask you to submit your photos to me. I want you, based on your experience and the information posted on this website, to classify into a few categories the white-tailed deer you captured with your camera. Like the survey you have taken, I will ask you to determine the sex, approximate age, and on the side of the deer's rack with the most points, the number of points 1 inch or longer. All of the deer pictured in each photo will be counted toward the total for each category. Even if there is a deer that you can identify as an individual and it is pictured multiple times, count it each time it is photographed.
1. Have your camera or cameras in place by midnight November 1st.
a. The batteries should be fully charged.
b. The memory card should have sufficient space to capture a week's worth of photos.
c. Place camera/s on property you have permission to be on.
d. Only place your cameras in 1 county for the study period.
e. Make sure they are pointed correctly (base on your experience with your camera/s).
2. Collect memory card or camera after midnight November 8th.
a. Look at all of the photos between midnight November 1st and Midnight November 8th.
b. Try to determine sex, age, and on the side of the deer's rack with the most points count points 1 inch or longer..
